The Dangoor Grant for Outstanding Research

The Dangoor Centre for Personalized Medicine will award 10 grants this year to physicians from affiliated hospitals and health funds who have academic appointments at the School of Medicine in the Galilee. Each grant will be in the amount of $10,000 and will be granted for the purpose of promoting clinical research.

Preference will be given to:

  • Translational research

  • Novel research ideas from varied disciplines in hospitals and community clinics

Additional consideration will be given to:

  • Quality and innovative scientific thought

  • The physicians experience

  • Dr. Braester Andrei, Senior Clinical Lecturer, Hematology, The Galilee Medical Center, Naharia - "Structural and Functional Characterization of Complement Components in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Patients undergoing Immunotherapy".

  • Dr. Armaly Zaher, Clinical Lecturer, Internal Medicine, The EMMS Hospital, Nazareth - "Impact of Haptoglobin Genotype on Intravenous Iron Administration-induced Oxidative Stress and Inflammatory Response in Patients with CKD: Potential Beneficial Effects of Carnitine".

  • Dr. Goldberg Hadassah, Clinical Lecturer, Oncology, The Galilee Medical Center, Naharia - "Isolation and characterization of potentially metastasizing tumor cells from primary breast cancer samples".

  • Dr. Khaled Khazim, Clinical Lecturer, Nephrology, The Galilee Medical Center, Naharia - "Genome-wide transcriptome profiling of circulating polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNLs) in patients with end stage renal disease".

  • Dr. Kogen Leonid, Clinical Lecturer, Plastic surgery, The Galilee Medical Center, Naharia - "A Randomized Clinical Trial of Donor Site Local Analgesia In Split-Thickness Skin Graft Patients".

  • Dr. Wolf Maya, Clinical Lecturer, Gynecology , The Galilee Medical Center, Naharia - "Fetal and maternal hormonal and signaling molecule association with outcome of labor induction".

  • Dr. Grosman Yonatan, Clinical Instructor, Family medicine, Clalit’s Health Services, North district - "The Low Indexes of Metabolism Intervention Trial (LIMIT): A randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate how alerting low metabolic values to primary care teams, would affect the health of patients aged 75 or older".
